Writing Samples
On this page I present a variety of writing samples. Samples include a conference poster presentation and accompanying extended abstract, typed notes from a research project, and a technical description. A brief description of each sample accompanies a downloadable file of the document.
AMS 37th Conference on Radar Meteorology
These two documents were submitted to the 37th Conference on Radar Meteorology in Norman, OK in September 2015 as Poster #79: "Using dual-polarization radar and crowdsourced mPING reports to investigate hydrometeor refreezing."

Finite Element Scheme for Convection-Diffusion Equations
This document is the culmination of a four week long research project conducted in the summer of 2013 with Dr. Zikatanov. The first half of the project was devoted to learning the numerical solution of convection-diffusion equations and the finite element discretizations for such equations. The latter half focused on incorporating the Edge Average Finite Element (EAFE) scheme into the iFEM package in MATLAB. The purpose of this paper was to document the work that had been done during the project, and was prepared using LaTeX.

The Bergeron-Findeisen Process
This document was submitted as an assignment for my technical writing course in the spring of 2014. The purpose of the assignment was to create a process description using technical writing conventions. I chose to describe the cloud microphysical process of the Bergeron-Findeisen Process in a similar manner to the way one might find it described in an undergraduate meteorology textbook: Background information is provided to help orient the reader before the process is discussed in detail.
