About Me
All of the pictures that I have chosen for this website are from my ever expanding collection of pictures of the sky. And why do I take pictures of the sky? Because I love what I study! My passion is learning about the atmosphere and the forces that create some of the most beautiful, picture-worthy scenes imaginable. As a scientist, I love understanding precisely what it is I am observing. So when I look up at the sky and see an interesting feature or cloud formation, I like to know what dynamic forces helped create it. Sometimes I can't always figure out what I observe on my own, so I do a little research to understand whatever is perplexing me.
I started off my undergraduate career at Western Connecticut State University in my home state. After my second year, I transferred to Penn State in pursuit of a more challenging and rewarding degree. What actually transpired was more than I ever could have dreamed of happening. Not only has my transfer challenged me academically, but it has ignited an even deeper interest in meteorology. I was presented with more opportunities to succeed than I ever would have been given at WestConn, which helped to foster an interest in radar meteorology.
I decided to stay at Penn State for my Master's degree to work with Dr. Kumjian. My area of focus is to investigate winter precipitation with polarimetric radar and microphysical modeling. Take a look at my "Research" page to find out more!
